Acacia Green Mist

I was most excited when I discovered this plant in a nursery last week because here is a plant with a totally different form.

It is a natural weeper with a profusion of slender branches clothed with long fine lime green leaves.  It reminded me of a weeping Maple and being an evergreen I became excited by its landscape potential.

Acacias are Wattles so this shrub is tolerant of dry soils and prefers to grow in full sun or part shade.  I could see it used to cascade over rocks in an arid planting or over water in a lush one.

Acacia Green Mist will eventually grow 1m high by 1.5 ms wide.  It grows in layers to form a tiered effect and would fit in perfectly with oriental gardens.

A handful of lemon fluffy balls are produced in spring but the fresh green leaves  are stunning through all seasons.

Consider growing this Weeper in a tall pot to allow for the cascading branches to make an entry statement.
